The Haitian Clayworks Project will have an Opening Reception on Monday. October 10th from 5-8 pm at the Moscow Clayworks in Moscow, PA . The exhibit will feature the ceramic clayworks of four Haitian artists: Lissa Jeannot, Ronald Meys, Burgeon Neptune, and Jude Gilot. Each artist’s work is unique in style and function, but all reflect the hardship of creating artwork in an impoverished country devastated by natural disasters.
“Our gallery began work on the Haitian Clayworks Project with a soup benefit at MCW’s Inaugural Exhibit in March 2010” said Frank Goryl, owner of Moscow Clayworks. “We can only hope to directly benefit the ceramic artists in Haiti with this exhibit.”
Additionally, Lissa Jeannot will be visiting Moscow Clayworks. She will present a gallery talk at Moscow Clayworks on Monday October 10th at 5pm and host a workshop of Haitian ceramic techniques on Tuesday, October 11 from 6-8pm at MCW Ms. Jeannot will also give a presentation on Haitian artwork on Wednesday October 12th at 3pm in the President’s Dining Room in Hibbard Campus Center at Keystone College.
