What: King’s College, Luzerne County Community College, Misericordia University and Wilkes University invite you to join them for Empty Bowls, an event that will raise money for the Weinberg Food Bank, the Back Mountain Food Pantry, the Luzerne County Community College Food Bank and St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.  Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger whose basic premise is simple:  potters and other craftspeople, educators and others create handcrafted bowls that are meant to remind people of all of the empty bowls in the world.   The idea for this local version of Empty Bowls was initiated by Jean Adams, local potter and pottery instructor at Wilkes University.

For a donation of $15, attendees will receive a handmade bowl with a serving of soup, bread & a drink. Children under the age of 12 are invited to attend the event for $5 and will receive a serving of soup, bread & a drink.  Additional bowls will be available for purchase at the event.
