ROBERT STARK TO EXHIBIT ARTWORK AT KEYSTONE COLLEGE

The Linder Gallery at Keystone College will present a multi-media exhibit of artwork by Union Dale artist Robert Stark from October 28-November 30 on the campus.

The exhibition “Robert Stark: Inside the Studio”features a re-creation of the artist’s studio within the Linder Gallery, and provides an educational look into the workings of an artist’s creative space.  The exhibit will also feature paintings, drawings, photographs and prints from Stark’s 40-year career. A reception for the artist will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 4-6 p.m. in the Gallery and the public is invited.

The Keystone exhibition is being held in conjunction with a retrospective exhibit of Stark’s paintings at ArtWorks Gallery & Studio and the AFA Gallery in Scranton, running through October 27. Mr. Stark will also speak about his career as an artist on Monday, October 29, at 9:45 am in Hibbard Campus Center at Keystone College. The presentation is open to the public.

Mr. Stark is an artist of international prominence who has had solo exhibitions at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Phillips Collection, the Cheekwood Fine Arts Center, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. Stark’s paintings have also traveled to over 140 world capitals through the State Department program, “Art in the Embassies.” Though working primarily as a painter in recent years, Stark’s career has spawned works in a wide array of media. He has lived, painted, and exhibited at Susquehanna Studio in Union Dale for over 40 years.

“The challenge of recreating Robert’s studio within the Linder Gallery is an exciting project,” said Drake Gómez, director of exhibitions at Keystone College. “The opportunity for visitors to see how an artist works, to view works in progress and artwork that has never left his studio, is extremely educational, so it’s fitting that this exhibit is being held in a college gallery.”
