ALLENTOWN ART MUSEUM September 9 through December 2, 2012
Flight of Imagination showcases seventeen hanging and freestanding ceramic sculptures created by the artist. The hanging pieces were designed in response to requests from urban patrons who had limited display space. All embody interplay of natural elements and environments with sculptural form. The artist’s choice of materials confirms this connection with Plexiglas, porcelain, and mirror. The works here range in age from the mid-80’s through 2012. Each work includes a surprise element, such as the dropped mirrors in “Ora’s Night” which create different spatial perspective within a single work. As with several of these Flights, as one moves around it, a childlike curiosity is evoked as one discovers new vistas and spectacles with each angle view.
