Screen Printing – Tuesday August 21 and August 28 from 6-8 PM. Ages 16 & up. Cost $85, includes all supplies and take-home screen. This 2-night class will provide you with basic information on the screen printing process with a fun/hands-on approach. You will learn the step-by-step process to turn your logo, drawing, or design into an image on a burned screen ready for printing on t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, etc.
Tomlynn Biondo will teach you about the basic materials you will need for this process, as well as what type of images work best in the screen printing process. Participants will leave with their own personal screen that can be used again and again. You can apply the process you learned in the convenience of your own home!
Letter Press Saturday Sept 1st from 12-2 PM. Ages 16 & up. $20/person, all supplies included. Join Samantha Urbanick of Hand Deliver Press, Clarks Summit, for a tabletop-platen press workshop. Learn the ins and outs of the little cast-iron beast, the Chandler & Price Pilot while creating your very own card out of recycled paper. Each student will learn how to lock up type and/or an image in the press, ink it, and print his or her set of cards. Book Binding – Saturday, Sept 15 12-2 PM. Ages 12 & up. Cost $25/person, all supplies included
In this class you will learn the basics of book binding. Learn how to create a “long stitch” bound book out of recycled materials: scrap papers and fabric. You can use your book for recipes, photos, sketches, notes, among many other things. You will also learn a few easy alternatives to some more complex bindings along with web references for you to for you to continue binding on your own!
Eco- Crochet- Saturday Sept 15th 12-3. Ages 16 & up. Cost $50, all supplies included. Learn to crochet and use recycled or up-cycled fiber! This class will introduce crochet basics: how to begin and end a simple pattern using the chain, single and double crochet stitches. We will focus on learning basic crocheting following a simple pattern using cotton string. By the end of the class you will have the knowledge to use a variety of eco fibers, make plarn, recycle clothing or re-purpose others materials available in your own home!
