CALL FOR ARTISTS – THE AFA GALLERY

The AFA Gallery is seeking artists’ submissions for its monthly exhibitions for the year 2013.  The AFA Gallery is operated by Artists for Art, which was founded as a regional visual artists’ organization whose purpose is to promote the appreciation of the visual arts and to provide support for regional visual artists.

Our gallery is located at 514 Lackawanna Avenue in Scranton, PA, and has two floors of exhibition space.  The first is approximately 1,200 square feet and has 120 linear feet of wall-exhibit space.  The second floor is approximately 2,400 square feet with 180 linear feet of wall-exhibit space.  We have monthly exhibitions.  We invite persons to submit proposals for a small group exhibit, or for the exhibition of the works of one-, two- or three persons, as chosen by the Gallery Committee.  We always seek work of high quality, but we also seek a balance of work from regional and non-regional artists; 2D and 3D; traditional and cutting-edge work.

Exhibition Submission Guidelines:

Please submit 12-20 samples of current work (work that you plan to include in your proposed show), on a CD or DVD.  Include an inventory of titles, mediums, and sizes.

File names for the digital files on your disc should refer to the titles on your printed list. Also include a biography or resume, along with a written proposal for your show, and/or an artist’s statement. The Gallery Committee reviews portfolios monthly. The committee will contact you with a decision.

Please send submissions to:
