JOHN DEPOL AT THE SURACI GALLERY AT MARYWOOD

‘Illustrator in Wood’, an exhibition of the art of John DePol (1913-2004) will be at the Suraci Gallery at Marywood through October 9.  The exhibit, organized by Peter Hoffer and Don Rash, surveys the the work of Depol, an American illustrator who worked in the traditional medium of wood engraving.  DePol is regarded as one of the preeeminent 29th century practitions in the long tradition of wood engraving that dates back to the late 1700’s, and among the masters of the medium that include Feritz Eichenber, Rockwell Kent, Barry Moser and Leonard Baskin
